Winnie and I participated in a rock-a-thon presented by The Eastern Shore of Va. Literacy Group, to promote literacy and to advertise that it tutors individuals of any age in reading.

We were particularly pleased to help out with this event, held at the Four-Corner Plaza Shopping Center in Onley, VA, since we both believe that the ability to read is vital to the quality of one's life. We did our part by pawtographing the books donated by Scholastic Books which were given to all the children who participated. By the way, in addition to children and college students, the superintendents of schools for our two counties and members of our boards of supervisors manned the rocking chairs to help with the effort.
