TO ALL OUR LOYAL READERS AND NEW VISITORS: On April 4, 2006, our beloved Canine-American author and good friend Mickey, died at the age of 12 years and 2 months. Mickey touched countless lives through his books, his participation in numerous functions for charity and his therapeutic visits to those in need of a companion. He was truly a champion in the eyes of all who knew him personally and through his works, and many of the comments left here in this guestbook reflect the good will he spread.

Mickey will be sorely missed and the hearts of thousands go out to Anne and Winnie in sympathy for their loss. As his webmaster, I am inserting this entry to assure those who loved Mickey that this site and a soon to be launched sister site will go on as part of his legacy. This site has always been dedicated to the fun-filled world of Boston Terriers everywhere, and I know that Mickey would want it to remain.

Anne, Winnie, myself and the rest of his website team will be working together to help keep alive the spirit he worked so hard to achieve. I know Mickey would want to thank all of you who supported him in his work.

I took in a Boston terrier that came from a puppy mill. It was only til he was ready to go to a good home. It has been six months and Kody is here to stay. What a great dog he has turned out to be. Just found about Mickey through the BTR of Florida site. My first Boston was a female named Pretty, a Christmas gift when I was 7 years old. I am now in my 60's and have always been blessed by sharing my life with these dear and very special creatures some of whom, the later ones have been happily adopted. My heart felt the sadness for Mickey's absence as it has felt it so many times for my companions now in Heaven. And while we wait to be reunited, I admire and congratulate you for this wonderful memorial to your dear Mickey. The many Boston rescues working hard and lovingly to shelter the homeless ones (it is hard to beleive) is also a wonderful way of honoring the precious American Gentleman breed.

I did a search for rescuing a Boston Terrier and found the Boston Rescue Net, then found Mickey's page. He was an exceptionally great dog and will be missed by many. Its so hard loosing someone we love. The "Rainbow Bridge" comes to mind when I think of our pets passing. I truly believe that Mickey will be reunited with all those hearts he has touched over the years. God Bless you, Mickey

I am so sorry to hear about Mickey. It breaks my heart to even thinking about losing one of my Bostons especially my oldest, Rockey. I think Rockey is a lot like Mickey. He would make a wonderful therapy dog because he's so sensative. He always knows when someone is not feeling well. My mother-in-law recently passed away from lung cancer. Rockey would spend his days laying on the bed with her. When she was in a lot of pain, he would lay next to the bed and not leave the room. I have puppies due again in a few days. Rockey got sick during the last delivery. I wonder if he'll get sick again.

12 yrs ago our first boston was introduced to our family. Her name is Blossum...we loved the breed so much we decided to get another 7 yrs later, Lucy. Blossum, a black and white female, is on the quiet side. Lucy on the other hand was very busy, playfull, and loving. My beloved Lucy died April 4, 2006 of leptosproris. That was not the way it was suppose to be, Blossum was older and Lucy was younger. Our house is so quiet. I miss my Lucy so much its hard for me to even type this. I threw away all her 50 plus toys yesterday, since Blossum doesn't use them. I will be in the market for purchasing a boston puppy to try to fill Lucy's shoes. This is a wonderful breed, loving, kind hearted, loyal and friendly. I didn't know Mickey, but after reading his guest book, he too, must have been a very special boston.

Dear Anne & Winnie, I just can't stop crying. Mickey was truly one of my dearest friends. What a priveledge to be one of the special ones that could call Mickey, "friend". Whenever dear Mickey's name popped up in my box it was a happy day for me. I have a photo sent me by Mickey himself which I framed and hung. I shall keep this treasured momento hanging as a reminder of the love, laughs and friendship we shared, Mickey and I. Mickey was a little dog with a big heart. It was Mickey who befriended my "sister" Lucille before me. Lucille had suffered terrible abuse and had emotional problems. It was Mickey that gave her a voice to share her story with the world and help people to "think" about how they treat animals and to show that we have feelings too. Mickey did much to socialize Lucy and help her into a world of caring friends. Mickey introduced both of us to our dear Beau, Mr. Winston Dreyfus of Cananda and our dearest friend, Vita and later Toby and Mac. Mickey was not just a personal friend to us all, he was so much more to the world. Mickey campaigned against the demon, cancer and did what he could to raise awareness and hope. Mickey championed those who were sad, sick and hurting, making personal visits to them. It didn't matter to he they were but lowly humans. He met their needs. Micky encouraged children to read. He was a wonderful author and made many personal appearances. The world would be a darker place today without Mickey...except his was a legacy that lives on. Mickey lives on in the inspiration he left in all of our hearts. Anne and Winnie, our prayers are with you in these lonely hours. Please know that there are many who love you and pray for you. Heard of Mickey's passing today. He was "Superman" of the Dog Kingdom. A friend to all, a caregiver who never asked for anything in return. He gave of himself through-out his life; yet, at times, it was hard on him as he too had medical problems that he fought to overcome. His cancer along with his back problems took its toil over the years; yet, he never let his illnesses get the best of him, nor did it slow him down. His kindness and goodness will always be remembered. He was a caregiver to many and a friend to all....

We are told that our parents-Judy and Rich, are thinking of moving to Onancock from Cape Cod. We have been therapy dogs ourselves and enjoyed making people smile. It's nice to know that other terriers enjoy doing the same and and that you carry this wonderful therapy work on in Onancock. I have recently moved to the southern California area. I moved here to go to school. My Mother held on to my Boston so that I wouldn't have to leave him home alone in an apartment all day. Well now that I am done with school I have asked for my dog back. She has fell in love with him as I suspected would happen. Growing up my parents had friends who had a Boston. He was a wonderful dog. I knew that if I was ever going to have a dog as an adult that I would have a Boston. Well I took the plunge 1 year ago and purchased a female Boston puppy-Belle. Why did I wait so long ...She is a wonderful addition to our family. A loving loving dog.

I love this site. I would like to do a website for our Bostons, but it wouldn't be as great as this one. We have 4 wonderful Bostons. I have a CKC male that is neutered and a terrible mama's boy. The others are AKC and for breeding, but still spoiled rotten. We have one stud, but he's hasn't bred yet as he is only a year old. We have 2 females. We hope to breed one soon and have puppies this summer. The other isn't a year old yet so she'll have to wait. Our Bostons are raised in the house, beautifully marked, and have wonderful personalities.

Hello from South Carolina, I just purchased my 2nd Boston,my first (MoMo) died from kidney failure in 1997 and it took me this long to get over his death and finally decide to get another, I just picked up "Obie" last week and he is 6 weeks old. He has a totally white head with blue eyes and is soooooooooo sweet & adorable. He is so different from my MoMo as he is a biter, strong and is so hyper. Someone told me he bites because I got him to early, does anyone have any comments about his biting. My hands look like Ive encounter a shark. Love this site, very interesting reading

I recently acquired a one year old female Boston from a breeder who moved and was forced, for health reasons, to sell her dogs. Maddie has never been bred. She is AKC registered and has show quality markings. She is also incredibly athletic and bright. I am trying to decide whether to breed her or have her fixed. If I could find a mate for her with good markings, I would take on the responsibility of breeding. I am in Boise, Idaho. Is there anyone close by or who has any ideas or possibilities. On Sept 29,2005 we found alittle female Boston Terrier wondering around the streets of a downtown area, we contacted animial control and placed ads in the local papers and during our wait for her owners to claim her we brought her home where she spent 5 nights with us, ofcourse we all fell in love with her. On Tuesday Oct. 4 her owner contacted us to claim her and though we all knew we had done the right thing it still saddend us all to see her go, so that night I searched the local papers and found us our very own little female Boston to love and spoil for the rest of her life. Any helpful hints I would appreciate in helping us all get off in the right direction with her, right now she is 3 mo. and seems to be a real baby, loves to be right with you, fortunetly I own my own business and she is able to come to work everyday with my wife and I.

I recently got a new pet, it is a 9 months old female boston terrior. Her name is Katie, she is such a sweetie! She is really good with my childrens and she loves playing with my children. She also loves to be in people's laps and get attentions. I am very happy that I got her, becuase she is a really good dog.

SO NOW SHE HAS GAINED WEIGHT AND IS SWEET AS CAN BE, SHE ACTS LIKE A BOSTON TERRIER AND HAS THE SAME COLOR AS ONE, SHE IS JUST GREAT! THANKS TO ALL INVOLVED IN HER RESCUE FROM CERTAIN DEATH!!

UPDATE: "Sugar" has delivered her puppies naturally without a C-section. She had three puppies, 2 males and 1 female. The 1st two are doing great but the 3rd (male) unfortunately didn't make it. She didn't need much help, but the pupppies are adorable (1 female & 1 male). We have two family members who are willing to give them a good home but I don't know if I can part with them. I love Bostons and are the best dogs ever !!!! Thank you to all who responded to my original message.

Hi, HELP....We've owned a boston terrior for about 4 years (Male..Spicey his name) and in the beginning of July a friend of a friend couldn't keep her boston terrior and she gave her to us. My family and I were so excited because know Spicey had some company. Unknowinly, the dog (sugar) was in heat & the dogs mated. Well, "sugar" should be delivering her puppies any day now. However, we're so lost and clueless as what to do. I've taken her to VET and spoke with him because I was concerned because most people have told me that Boston's usually have C-sections. My VET doesn't think she have C-section because its roo risky but I don't want her to suffer and put her through any prolong pain. We have a tropical storm headed our way and I don't know what sign to look for or if I should seek a C-section from another vet. Please help. Thank you, Marisol

We have 3 wonderful Bostons. One CKC 3 yr old male, terrible Mama's boy, neutered (Rockey). One 2 yr old AKC female, perfect angel, will not get into trouble alone, always includes one of the others, caught her giving a piece of potpourri to Rockey before getting her own (Bri). One 8 mth AKC male, silliest dog we've ever owned (Ace). Ace will be our stud. Looking for another AKC female!!!!!!! Anyone have any females???? They are so hard to find.

I just brought my new Boston puppy home yesterday. He is so adorable. I grew up with a Boston and so did my dad. His name is Gizmo. He's already doing wonderful. No accidents on the floor or in the kennel that he sleeps in at night (until he becomes house trained). He is definitely going to be spoiled!

I had a beautiful boston named Peek-a-boo when we lost her after 14 years everyone was so upset I said " no more dogs here hurts to bad to loos them" well shortly after that (I found) A new Boston was in our life and I said "I muzbe crazy to get another bog" well her name is Muzbe and she is just the best pet anyone could hope for. Then what do I do get my wife another one for Mothers day this time I said "I muzbe nuts" so oh yes I have a very good male Boston named Nutz. The best part of their names when I get to open the door and call for them--- MUZBE NUTZ all my neighbors just say yup.. or when the Vet calls for MUZBE NUTZ and I stand up and say yup thats us. With 3 boys at home our Boston always have some one to play with, my wife even has Muzbe saying MA-MA when she wants a treat..

We have a 4 year male Boston who is clearly the king of our castle. We thought that a companion pup would be good for him. We recently(2 days) brought home a sweet female Boston puppy and the older dog is demonstrating aggressive behaviour towards her. We are at a loss, any positive suggestions would be appreciated.
